Intern Positions
COLABORATORY is looking for people to fill the roles below. Each team consists of one person for each role.
Regardless of what role you’re shooting for, be prepared to stretch beyond it. There are no hard lines drawn in COLABORATORY, and the way to succeed is to show us that you’re talented, open to learn and collaborative. You’ll figure out the rest as you go.
ACCOUNT MANAGER
You manage ideas and the people who execute the ideas. You also shape the strategy that drives all creative development. You can both lead and observe, watching for the most intelligent way to help the team come together to serve the client’s objectives. You facilitate, inspire, and hold the ship steady, always with one goal in mind.
Skills
- Close collaboration with client & creative teams
- Ability to articulate the strategy & rationale of your work
- Ability to work with all personalities and skill sets to bring out their unique gifts
- Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and writing
COPYWRITER
You’re the big idea person and the little detail person. You’ve got a way with words no matter what media they’re for. You don’t just think of the coolest idea – you find a way to make it meet your client’s goals. After you write the word – you know how to get it out to the world.
Skills
- Passion for crafting compelling stories
- Close collaboration with client & creative teams
- Ability to articulate the strategy & rationale of your work
- Ability to write compelling short and long form copy for different media (web, print, email, video, etc.)
DESIGNER
You bring visual ideas to the group. You have shortcuts to all the Adobe programs on your desktop. You point out fonts to your friends in casual conversation. You can design for both print and interactive, and have probably dipped your toes in the development waters. You know that great design is as much a product of hard work as it is artistic vision.
Skills
- Close collaboration with writers & interactives to conceive and execute work
- Ability to articulate the strategy & rationale of your work
- Full Adobe Creative Suite
Interactive Developer
You live in the balance between art and technology and know how to make interactive experiences come to life on the screen. You don’t just take things from comps to code, you bring your own expertise to the collaboration at all phases to make sure your end product doesn’t just work right, it feels right
Skills
- Close collaboration with writers & designers to conceive and execute work
- Ability to articulate the strategy & rationale of your work
- HTML & Flash Action Script 2,3(or higher) are a must. PHP & Java are nice to have
- Full Adobe Creative Suite
- Know how to tap into & manipulate public APIs
PUBLIC RELATIONS
You know how to get people talking. You bring a strategic approach to sparking communication in all media from newspapers to new media.
Skills:
- Ability to develop newsworthy press releases, pitches and key messages
- Proficient in digital strategy, ie: Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms
- Proficient in Cision and other creative ways of selecting editors to pitch
